چکیده

Purpose: The aim of this stud was to compare the clinical and radiological results between Sinus-tarsi (ST) Extended-Lateral (EL) approaches in open reduction internal fixation intra-articular calcaneal fractures.
Materials Methods: 51 fractures 48 patients surgically treated 2012 2017 were retrospectively analyzed. divided into two groups. Preoperative CT, early postoperative 1st-year radiographs, American Orthopedic Foot Ankle Society (AOFAS) Ankle-Hindfoot Score scores evaluated.
 Results: According Sanders classification, nine EL group type 2(36%), 16 3 (64%), 8 ST 234.8%), 13 (56.5%) 3, 2 (8.7%) 4. mean AOFAS-Hindfoot score 85(63-100) 83(52-93) LE at one year. Mean preoperative waiting time shorter, with an average 2(1-4) days 6(3-12) LE.
Conclusion: approach shortens fracture surgery, provides a sufficient vision for anatomical restoration, effectively avoids complications.

Less wound complications of a sinus tarsi approach compared to an extended lateral approach for the treatment of displaced intraarticular calcaneal fracture

BACKGROUND We conducted a prospective randomized clinical trial to compare the clinical and radiological outcomes of the sinus tarsi and extended lateral approaches for the surgical treatment of displaced intraarticular calcaneal fractures. METHODS Between January 2009 and January 2014, patients with displaced intraarticular calcaneal fracture were randomly assigned to receive surgical treatm...

Comparison of two surgical approaches for displaced intra-articular calcaneal fractures: sinus tarsi versus extensile lateral approach

BACKGROUND Two common surgical approaches included the sinus tarsi and extensile lateral are used for displaced intra-articular calcaneal fractures. However, few studies have compared outcome of treated by the two approaches. The purpose of this study was to compare the outcome between these two approaches for Sanders type-II and type-III fractures. METHODS This retrospective cohort study was...

Management of intraarticular calcaneal fractures by minimally invasive sinus tarsi approach-early results.

ABSTRACT The operative treatment of displaced intraarticular calcaneal fractures has been a controversial topic. Soft tissue conditions and concomitant disease must be considered in these patients. The minimally invasive sinus tarsi approach is a valid therapeutic solution that guarantees stability, anatomic reduction of the fracture and soft tissue preservation. Twenty-five closed calcaneal fr...

OBJECTIVE To evaluate the clinical results of surgical treatment of intraarticular fractures of the calcaneus, comparing the use of calcaneal plate and flat plate. METHODS This was a retrospective study assessing the postoperative results of 25 patients between 2013 and 2015. Patients undergoing surgical treatment of intraarticular fractures of the calcaneus without concomitant surgical lesio...

Minimally invasive (sinus tarsi) approach for calcaneal fractures

BACKGROUND According to the anatomic characteristics of the calcaneus and the sinus tarsi approach, we designed a combined plate. The goal of this study was to retrospectively assess the functional outcomes and complications of treatment with our self-designed plate. METHODS From March 2014 to October 2015, 18 patients with closed calcaneal fractures (14 Sanders type II and 4 type III) were t...
